Такая проблема: на буке установлена виста. требуется установить ХР, при загрузке с установочного диска ХР выдает что не найден HDD. Флоппа нету, поэтому с него установить невозможно. Вроде где то в биосе была какая-то опция включить/выключить и тогда видит нормально, тока не помню где... или тут это не поможет?

На многие новые ХР поставить вообще нельзя.
И флопик тут не поможет. И биосы не все поддерживают функцию определения САТА как ИДЕ.

Что значит поставить ХР нельзя??? Можно.. Только драйвера неделю искаьт в инете будешь.
Ищи функцию RAID в биосе. И отключи её. Возможно поможет.
ЗЫ. тоже терпеть не могу эти SАTA...

Windows XP ***8211; PRO (32 bits) is running in my Z53SV (same model as F3SV) !

My HW:
Z53SV. 2G RAM. T7300. NV8600. 160G HD. NVIDIA 8600M GS.

My SW:

Windows Vista preinstalled (Spanish)

Windows XP Pro. New installation (Spanish)

The problem I:

XP Pro (tested with SP1 and SP2) was unable to identify the SATA controller ***8230; the setup process stopped because it was unable to ”see***8221; the Hard Drive.




Solution (0): Disable SATA at the BIOS... cannot be done (not such option on Asus BIOS)


By example= Lenovo - Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows

Start the BIOS Setup Utility menu.
Select Config.
Select Serial ATA (SATA).
Select Compatibility.
ASUS BIOS (at least at this time) don't allow deselecting SATA native acces

Solution (i): (Didn’t work in my case***8230; but maybe it will work for some one other)

Download the drivers from intel web site.

Search for: Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager

=> A floppy disk reader (USB external) is necessary in order to ”pre-load***8221; these drivers during the XP installation process.


=> I tested this solution using a virtual floppy drive too (long history) with a memory stick***8230;. don’t explain because it worked exactly like the floppy (external USB) reader***8230; didn’t found the drive the 2nd time during the installation process.


Follow the instructions of the readme file. Section 5.3


5.3 Pre-Installation Using the F6 Method.

Create a floppy containing the following files in the root directory:

iaAhci.inf, iaAhci.cat,

iaStor.inf, iaStor.cat,

iaStor.sys, and

-At the beginning of the operating system installation, press F6 to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.


- When prompted, select 'S' to Specify Additional Device.


- When prompted, insert the floppy disk


- At this point you should be presented with a selection

for one of the following depending on your hardware

version and configuration:

- Press Enter again to continue. Leave the floppy disk in

the system until the next reboot as the software will

need to be copied from the floppy disk again when setup

is copying files.


=>Here the setup process (in my case) stop, requesting the floppy drive for a 2nd time (it was there!), and doing nothing***8230;.



Solution (ii): (OK)

In my case, the solution was to create a new (personalized) installation CD for Windows XP***8230;

STEP 1: Modify the original XP installation files

a) Copy all the files and directories of the XP installation disk to your hard drive


Ex: from D:*.* (your installation CD) to C:/XP/*.* (your HD)


b) Create the following directory path:

C:\XP\$OEM$\$1\drivers\SATA

c) Copy all the files of the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager (see solution I) to that directory: C:\XP\$OEM$\$1\drivers\SATA

iaAhci.inf, iaAhci.cat,

iaStor.inf, iaStor.cat,

iaStor.sys, and

TxtSetup.oem.

d) Copy iaStor.sys to C:\XP\i386\ directory

e) Modify the file TXTSETUP.SIF located at: C:\XP\i386

STEP 2: Create a new XP installation CD/DVD (boot CD/DVD)


a) Use a utility to copy the boot area of the cd (XP original installation CD/DVD) to a boot file on your desktop

Note: I use Ultra ISO software to do it.

Ex:: Call this file XP_SP1.bif

b) Open UltraISO, and make a new Bootable CD/DVD image, specify the file saved (XP_SP1.bif), then add the contents of the C:\XP\ directory to it

And finally I burn the CD/DVD image to a blank CD/DVD

=> Now you have a personalized XP installation CD = ”Adding OEM drivers to Windows Setup***8221;

STEP 3: Install Windows XP Pro

(a) (Optional) Create a new (MBR) partition of +/- 30 G (Ex.: Resize the Vista partition).

In order to keep the Windows Vista ”untouched***8221; (maybe you will test / use it in the future), I create a new partition (30 G) using a Partition Manager software (I am using Bootitng). The idea is to keep W Vista installed (it’s not necessary to touch it).

Before begin the installation of XP I did this partition the Active (boot) partition, It’s mean that Windows XP don’t care about W Vista***8230; (the boot of Vista will not be corrupted), and Windows XP will be installed as a C: drive (like Vista).

b) Modify the boot sequence (BIOS = F2). 1st = CD/DVD, 2nd = HD


c) Introduce the XP installation CD/DVD and start your notebook***8230;


=> Just follow the normal installation sequence ***8230;


=> It’s up to you to use Bootitng software in order to create a ”dual boot***8221; environment (choose which OS you will use)***8230; or just keep W Vista as a Hidden partition***8230; (sleeping).

=> If you prefer there is another option in order to create a dual boot environment.... see last STEP 5 at the end of this document.



STEP 4: And ***8230; drivers, SP2, etc***8230;

Just after the installation of XP SP1 (in my case) I installed some drivers and SP2.

My sequence:

=> Read and download these files before to install windows XP. Use yahoo and/or google ***8230;

- Install: Intel (there is a link to the 965) InfUpdate (infinst_autol.exe) for Intel 965 Express Chipset

- In my case: Install SP2 (SP2 = Windows XP Pro)

- Install NVIDIA driver (NV 8600M GS) for XP***8230;


Not yet delivered an official driver (for XP). Only support for directX 9.x.


165.01 drivers (XP or Vista) are buggy and don't let our 8600GS return from hibernate mode.

1) Download 162.18 be careful, two links in one line: first install and unpack drivers

2) Download .Inf file (nv4_disp.inf)

3) OVERWRITE nv4_disp.Inf file (into the directory where 162.18 was unpacked), with the nv4_disp.inf, otherwise installer will not recognize your card

4) One more remark with the XP version, you should turn off the power micromanagement in nvidia control panel, to stop the little sound coming from your screen with XP

=> only if you installed XP as a C: drive in a different partition = STEP 3, Option (a)


=> copy NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM, and BOOT.ini from the XP partition (C: drive, root) to the Vista partition (X: X = drive where Vista resides). This is required because the Vista partition will soon be the boot (Active) partition again .



From XP
=> Still from XP, use Disk Manager to change the Active partition back to the original Vista partition (you can use Bootit too). The Vista partition's letter will show up as something other than C, doesn't matter, it will be C when booting Vista. Since the XP install never touched the Vista partition, NO repair is needed -- reboot and Vista will startup again.

From Vista:
=> Use EasyBCD (download and install http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1)

Launch the app and go to Add/Remove Entries.

Under ”Add an Entry***8221; and under the Windows tab and select in the Version drop-down list ”Windows NT/2k/XP/2k3***8221;.

Change the Drive to D:\ or E:\ or X:\ (X = drive where XP resides) and the name to ”Windows XP***8221;, then click ”Add Entry***8221; and ”Save***8221;.

аха... все понятно! ну прям все! проблема в том что нету флопа!!!

Вариант 1. Некоторые модели позволяют использовать "флешку" вместо FDD (буква диска назначается в биосе при подключенной "флешке").

Вариант 2. Интегрировать драйвера от САТА в дистр Win XP.

блин, с флешки загрузись, как правильно сказал Paralax. Причем на флеху запихай дистр типа WinXP lite или что-т подобное, для одминов короче Таких релизов икспишки в тырнете куча, занимают 256 метров максимум. И с той винды которая с флехи грузанется - ставь с сидюка ХП обычную. Медод проверенный!
